Fallout 4: Season Pass Details

The season pass has long been a subject of controversy online; to some they're a way to save a few quid on the DLC for a game you absolutely know you're going to want the content for. To others it's paying for content that doesn't exist yet with nothing but assurances it'll be worth the value. (In regards to Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel I am firmly in the latter camp.)

However if you recently purchased the season pass for Fallout:4 then you're in luck, Bethesda have just released the first details of the upcoming content included in the season pass and it seems to be a fair amount. The items included in the season pass have been revealed to include 2 new story DLC's and a customisation upgrade pack. This mirrors nicely the DLC for Bethesda's previous title Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim which included first Dawnguard which was then followed by Hearthfire and finally Dragonborn.

But enough introduction, here's the list of content you're here for:

Since Fallout 4 launched, we’ve been blown away by your support for the game. It stands as our most successful title ever and that couldn’t have happened without you. It’s been truly inspiring, the stories, images and experiences that you’ve created. And now it’s time to share with you some of what we’ve been creating – our first series of add-ons: Automatron, Wasteland Workshop and Far Harbor.
- Bethesda.net

First off:

'Automatron'
Price: $9.99 USD | £7.99 GBP | $14.95 AUD
Release: March 2016

The mysterious Mechanist has unleashed a horde of evil robots into the Commonwealth, including the devious Robobrain. Hunt them down and harvest their parts to build and mod your own custom robot companions. Choose from hundreds of mods; mixing limbs, armor, abilities, and weapons like the all-new lightning chain gun. Even customize their paint schemes and choose their voices!

Then barely before you've had time to sink your teeth into that; get treated to:

'Wasteland Workshop'

Price: $4.99 USD | £3.99 GBP | $6.95 AUD
Release: April 2016

With the Wasteland Workshop, design and set cages to capture live creatures – from raiders to Deathclaws! Tame them or have them face off in battle, even against your fellow settlers. The Wasteland Workshop also includes a suite of new design options for your settlements like nixie tube lighting, letter kits, taxidermy and more!

And finally in May, just in time to distract you from the end of any studying for those of you in education:

'Far Harbor'
Price: $24.99 USD | £19.99 GBP | $29.95 AUD
Release: May 2016

A new case from Valentine’s Detective Agency leads you on a search for a young woman and a secret colony of synths. Travel off the coast of Maine to the mysterious island of Far Harbor, where higher levels of radiation have created a more feral world. Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we’ve ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.

That's a considerable line up. The best part? That's only the start, by Bethesda's own admission they have much more coming taking the total cost of all the DLC past $60.

This has lead to a slight complication however, as this is what they are calling an "expansion" of their DLC plans they are increasing the price of the season pass. The way that this will work is that the DLC pass currently cost $29.99 (£24.99) and will be increasing to $49.99 (£39.99) with the price increase taking place at the "End of February". However, if you've already purchased the season pass or intend to before the price increase you'll get the full list of the DLC including the upcoming additions which have not yet been announced at no extra cost, a rare example of the consumer getting more than they paid for.

So get ready for more scavenging and looting, buy the season pass if you haven't already and make sure to do it before the price increase. Finally, as always;

Gamers,

Let's Play.
